Melaine Copeland is a Licensed Midwife (LM) and birth advocate in Harrisonburg, VA who has been instrumental in the Shenandoah Valley birth community for over two decades. She completed doula training in 1995, attended Sacred Mountain Midwifery School in West Virginia, and currently works as a birth assistant. She has been a vocal advocate and organizer, founding Birth Circle and co-founding HAMMOC (Harrisonburg Advocates for the Midwives Model of Care) and Birth Matters Virginia.
